Ok I have been holding on to these pictures too long! I absolutely LOVED working with Sawyer and Michelle, and so of course their Formal Session was just a real treat for me! We got close enough to their wedding day where we finally got some color which was awesome.

Michelle chose to do a first look, even though Sawyer kept saying how he’d already seen her in her wedding dress, she still wanted to show him the finished look! I really absolutely love it when couples do a First Look since it’s a great way to capture those first moments all dressed up like a bride and groom.

I love to see the way that couples interact with one another. It’s always so different depending on individual personalities and they way they mesh together. Sawyer has definitely got the sense of humor, Michelle has definitely got the smiles and laughter. Both just work together to make a fantastic couple!

What was even more of a treat during the session is that Michelle brough her SWEET puppy Sadie for a few pictures! Sadie was the softest dog ever and I loved petting her when I introduced myself. We became instant friends! She seriously is a sweetheart!

There is not a need whatsoever to even try to describe how amazingly gorgeous Michelle is. The pictures do more justice than my words

Let me just say that having natural beauty is just awesome and lucky . . . but going the EXTRA mile to have your make up and hair done right by a professional seriously makes for pictures that make you shine and look your very best, especially for Bridals. Michelle is a hairstylist as well as gets hired by other Brides to do their make up for their special day. So she definitely knew what she was doing, and it turned out fantastic!!!

Michelle and Sawyer’s wedding day was just as beautiful, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! I love being a part of couple’s special time in their life and capturing these moments that really are fleeting in the grand view. I really believe that having beautiful wedding pictures taken and displayed in your home can help keep the connection strong.

A week or so ago, I had the fun opportunity to photograph 3 different HS Senior Gals in less than a week. . . and let me tell you it was a BLAST!!! All three of these gals, though different, were so fun to hang out with and I am so happy with what we got! Here is just a peek at what is to come soon

They are all so gorgeous, huh? Yep and I can’t wait to share more!!!

Matt and Lynae’s wedding was like a wintery dream. . . Every bride who gets married in Utah, and who gets married in the middle of the winter, dreams of a winter wonderland (or at least that is what we expect). Oddly enough, most days this past December/January had been quite dry, with even some days that may have been considered ‘warm.’ Well finally at the end of January, on Lynae and Matt’s wedding day, we got our Winter Wonderland for sure. . . . pure blizzard during some of the day! Thankfully we were inside (most of the day) at a gorgeous vintage styled venue up in Layton, Chantilly Mansion. This venue was a perfect fit for the style that Lynae and Matt were going for, and definitely provided eye candy for my camera and for all of the details of the day. 

I absolutely love this bride and groom and after joining them to capture their fun and beautiful engagements and bridals, I was thrilled to be wrapping up this wedding experience of the two of them with this beautiful day.

I absolutely love the enchantingly beautiful look that Lynae is fabulous at giving when my camera is around. Seriously she is a stunning bride.

And this is where it gets insane with the weather. We had quite the crew to take these two out to get that winter wonderland look:

Even though it was cold and snowy, these two could work it and make the already beautiful setting, that much more amazing looking. But we all were ready to go back in after just a little bit

There was this cute moment when Matt and Lynae first started dancing. They grasped each other’s hands and waist/shoulders so formal and proper. Then a family member pointed out to them that they were married and could hold each other as tight as they wanted. This beautifully happy picture followed! I just think these two are awesome

Talk about an incredible mirror. So glad these two were up for getting a few more pictures of just them. Because some of these are definitely favorites!

Yes look at those humongous snow flakes! It was such a beautiful day though!

They met at an unlikely place . . . a singles ward function. Okay, okay, I guess it is a pretty common place where people find each other (eh-hem . . . My Johnny and I). But many people go there and sometimes it doesn’t always happen right away. Well that particular day when Sawyer and his friend walked in, they saw Michelle sitting there. Obviously struck by her amazing outer beauty, they mustered up the courage to go sit by her and her friend. Sawyer may have been sitting next to Michelle’s friend, but he managed to get lucky and receive Michelle’s number. Because for him, it was a major crush that first day! 

Sawyer decided to call and ask her out . . . on Valentine’s Day. Yeah Michelle wouldn’t have that for a first date . . . awkward! hehe. . . so they did it soon after that. Sawyer could tell that Michelle was a little older than he was, but he wasn’t going to let that stop him from winning her heart! His friend wisely told him to just go for it and be super confident. So that’s what he did. And guess what? Two years later it worked!

Michelle’s side of the story has its own inner-workings and experiences which kept bringing her back to Sawyer over and over again. She would try to break it off, but she soon learned that the Lord kept trying to show her that she needed Sawyer and that he was the man who truly owned her heart.

This is what Sawyer had to say about her, “Michelle has so many amazing qualities. I love how mature she is and she is the only girl I have ever dated that had a vision of what she wanted. Parallel with that, she helps me to be the best I can be, and I love that. She is also probably the most caring person that I have ever meet! I also love that I can brag about her and how hot she is! Ha! I also love how we can do anything together and make it fun! Probably my favorite memory with her is when we went to Nauvoo together. Everything was perfect and our love only grew.”

I absolutely LOVED working with these two! Their style and personalities made for an absolutely fun session! (even if it was super cold at the end – thanks for being great troopers!!!) Enjoy!

Oh I love this family! But the crazy thing? It was my first time meeting the other half  of Steve and Shawna’s kids! I have been photographing Shawna and her kids since the beginning of this photography journey. . . . and I am still always shocked and amazed at how photogenic they all are every time (ok I shouldn’t be shocked, because they are all just naturally beautiful, but still)! A little over a year ago, Steve and Shawna gave me the great pleasure to photograph them (click here to see)  at the temple together the day before they wed.

So it was so fun to meet and photograph all of them together as a family! They were so prepared and brought all of this furniture piled in their truck so that we had lots of diversity! I love how everything came together! It was fun for me to be at a different location (which they found), and all of them truly were a blast to hang out with!

You would never know that they are step-siblings . . . in regards to both looks and the way they all seem to click so well with one another!  I absolutely loved it!

I was so happy to meet sweet Emeri! I have known her mommy since high school, and the last time we had gotten together was for a wedding where I was almost 9 months pregnant with Oliver. So it was a treat to meet their sweet little girl, and photograph her in my new house (I told you all that I moved right?)

Emeri seriously was amazing! She was extremely happy while awake (and quite poopy too! Sorry to her mommy for being the main target!), so we were able to surprisingly get some very cute smiles! Yet she also slept amazingly when we needed her to!

And take a look at this ‘protective’ daddy! Emeri is too cute already that he has had to dust off his shotgun for all of those little boyfriends that are sure to come calling to Emeri before she can date . . . Watch out boys! This daddy is already practicing his ‘intimidation’ look!

But don’t worry! He really he is a nice guy! He’s just watching out for his baby girl!

Emeri’s mommy and daddy: THANK YOU for coming in and choosing me as your photographer to capture this very special moment in your life! Emeri is a sweetheart and even at a week and a half old, I could already feel of her little personality which is amazing for being that young! Parenthood is awesome and I hope you enjoy it!

This Winter wedding of Jordan and Danielle was at the end of December . . . now this year’s winter here in Utah has been surprisingly mild! It has been VERY nice and I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit . . . though I do enjoy snow too! So when I stepped out the door to quite a nice December day to photograph this wedding, I was confident and happy that all would be well! (Usually December and January weddings meet me head on with full blown blizzards!)

Well I had obviously forgotten that this wedding was up on the mountains of Draper city, where though there was lack of snow, it was definitely made up in full blown WIND!!! As I was hanging out outside waiting for Jordan and Danielle to come out, I accidentally dropped my reflector and it literally started blowing away FAST!!! Me and my second photographer (and amazing friend, Michaelene O’Keefe) just might have shrieked while running after it  . . . oops! The wind seriously took anything that could act as a parachute and blew hard! But even with the wind, this temple is so beautiful! I think my favorite details are the unique architecture as well as the BEAUTIFUL golden entrance door!

Danielle, Jordan, family, and friends were serious troopers to put up with this CRAZY wind that we got that day!  

We tried as hard as we could to get pictures that looked more ’normal’ without the effects of crazy wind, but I particularly like these next two pictures which reminded us that Danielle’s dress acted as a parachute in the wind!

And at one point the wind gave just enough dynamic to her dress, while not blowing it away, that we got my favorite shot of the day!

This butterfly in the bouquet had special meaning to Danielle and her family, whose Grandmother has passed away but who had a special love of butterflies.

I love seeing all the different styles of rings that my couples’ have! I’ve sure seen some beautiful ones!

The back of Danielle’s dress was stunnning in detail. So of course we had to show it off!

The garder toss was funny . . . when Jordan realized that all of the single “men” comprised of young nephews!

Thank you Jordan and Danielle for including me in your special day! Thanks for putting up with the crazy wind and putting on smiles even though it was freezing! Congratulations on your marriage!

Ok my jaw almost hit the floor when I realized that I haven’t posted ANYTHING of this session (facebook, sneak peek, nothing!) And let me tell you, this has to be one of my personal favorite bridal sessions of 2011.  Even though this location has been used lots by other photographers, it was the first time (for me) to use this location for a full session, and Lynae’s elegant and classic style that she brought to this, meshed PERFECTLY with her surroundings. Ok this girl would look AMAZING in any location, but this one just seemed to fit.

 Again my jaw almost hit the floor when I saw her in that gorgeous gown. She looked like she could have stepped out of an old time film as a movie star. I’m sure Matt was just as floored with how amazing she looked I love the chemistry between these two. I may have mentioned this before, but the way Matt treats Lynae would make any girl sigh. 

Because it was frigid cold outside, we jumped from one to the other, which worked out great. The lighting was AMAZING that day and we couldn’t have asked for better! Any ways, I guess I will ‘allow’ all of you to see some of my favorite pictures that I’ve been hanging onto for quite long enough

Yes these next ones were totally awesome, but be warned, it was quite risky getting up in a bridal gown (something of which I wasn’ t sure we were allowed to do or not?).

Lynae and Matt – forgive me for not posting these earlier . . . if anything it was because I loved them so much that I hung onto them for this long. But I was THRILLED when I went to your wedding and so so so many of them were printed throughout the whole venue! It warmed my heart to see that you loved them as much as I did

Whitney and Michael’s December wedding was cold (even with the amazing sunshine!), yet wonderful! All the happiness felt by all of their family and friends warmed everyone’s hearts!

Also I had the HUGE pleasure to photograph alongside the amazing videographer, David Perry! Not ONLY is he incredibly talented, he was also so incredibly nice and put me right at ease while working alongside him! He even put up with my constant babbling while I photograph! Haha! I just can’t help it! I guess that’s why I am behind the camera, since in pictures you can’t hear my chatter of excitement as I photograph ;)

Well enough babbling {again} . . . let’s take a look at Michael and Whitney’s incredibly fun wedding day!

I’ve had the great pleasure to meet these awesomely fun grandparents at THREE weddings of their granddaughters now. . . and let me tell you, they are as nice and sweet as they look!  LOVED capturing these moments!

What I love most about these two, is how they laugh and smile easily! Yet they also can naturally turn around and give me soft reflective looks.

Next . . . .THE RECEPTION!

I was so excited to photograph at these venue for the first time. . . Castle Park Events. We were located in the Ballroom, and it was truly stunning! The details and atmosphere were perfect for this classy wedding. The bride’s and groom’s rooms were total eye candy and very well thought out. I would definitely recommend looking into this venue for your wedding or luncheon!

I absolutely LOVED when these HUGE and awesome prints greeted me as I walked through the door:

Oh and the food . . . DELICIOUS!!! I saved a plate for myself for the end of the night and savored each and every bite – wishing that things weren’t cleaned up by then so I could have more!

I loved the fun ideas they brought to their tables. Each table either had a jigsaw puzzle of a picture of the couple, or it had a bannanagram box full of letters. What a fun way for the guests to feel more a part of everything! (And fun for Michael and Whitney to keep the puzzles for future fun!)

I had one table in specific that had TONS of fun coming up with phrases for me to photograph! How incredibly fun it was!

Michael is a musician, and we all loved to hear him serenade Whitney as a special surprise!

Oh the dancing . . . is always a favorite! Add a chandelier to it? Even better!

I’ve now seen this daddy dance with his first and second daughter on their wedding days, it is so tender to see the relationship between a dad and his daughter.

Yay! A wonderfully beautiful wedding day coming to a close! Michael and Whitney – you are awesome! Thank you so much for welcoming me as your photographer and allowing me to be a part of your special day!
