Meet Matt and Lynae: a couple that I am seriously SOOOO excited to work with! The two of them have already been a complete blast to work with, and I feel as though we are friends already which always makes me even more excited about their upcoming wedding! I had met Lynae at a couple other weddings: a cousin’s wedding, a wedding where she was the bridesmaid . . . and now I am so excited that she is the bride! And Matt is pretty awesome himself!
After a long holiday blogging break, I am back! And I realize that it’s taken me forever to introduce you to this amazing couple! I seriously do feel so lucky that they picked me as their photographer! Ok, I want to share with you their fun story:
Matt and Lynae met through mutual friends at a party. Although Matt’s friend warned Lynae to stay far away from Matt, fortunatly Lynae followed her own instincts instead and agreed to a date. It only took that first date for Matt and Lynae. . . to realize that life could be sweet with the right person who brings out the best in you. After the date, Matt was supposedly going to call Lynae so they could talk with one another even more, but much to Lynae’s disappointment he didn’t. For three agonizing days, Lynae wondered what had gone wrong with their date. She had felt that they had both hit it off together, but maybe the feeling was just on her side? Why couldn’t he just call her up?
Well as luck would have it, Matt had planned on calling her, until right after their date, he stepped out of his car and his cell phone broke quickly when it fell to the ground. So it was a happy day when Lynae received the facebook message from Matt explaining why it had taken him so long to make contact again. With the cell phone replaced, Matt and Lynae’s relationship progressed. Matt recognized how truly lucky he had it when he found Lynae, and he fell quickly in love with her. Lynae knew she liked Matt a lot and that he made her happy, but was cautious at first till one day it just clicked.
In Lynae’s own words, “Our personalities fit together like 2 pieces of a puzzle. He’s always opening the door for me and tells me how beautiful I am even when I”m at my worst. The thing I love most about Matt is his willingness to push through whatever obstacles come his way. I feel like together we can conquer all.”

Matt has this natural and visible adoration for Lynae. It seriously was so tender to observe it.

Their wedding is coming up here in January. We’ve already photographed their AMAZING bridals! Can’t wait to share those! Thanks for stopping by today!

When Whitney and Michael met in their singles ward, they didn’t think too much of each other. . . . until they had the opportunity to work together in their callings. That’s when it all really started. . . but because of some conflicting rumors from others about their individual relationship “status,” it took some time for Michael and Whitney to realize that there really was mutual chemistry and interest from both sides. When I asked them who fell in love with who first, they both pointed to Whitney. “I just say it as it is” she told me. In a world full of women sending so many conflicting messages to the poor men out there (;)), Whitney had made it clear to Michael that he had indeed swept her off of her feet, and that she would be willing to pursue this relationship with him. And how wonderful is that? To have the courage and faith in love enough to open up your hearts to each other and start off a healthy relationship with open communication. I absolutely loved watching for myself the chemistry between these two as they laughed and had fun together, yet relished and appreciated a shared soft kiss and embrace.
I am so beyond thrilled to be photographing their wedding this next month! Just wait till I post their bridals . . . mmm. . . awesomeness! Ok, on to the awesome and amazing Whitney and Michael!

And we may or may not have been kicked out of the book section. . . I honestly had no idea it wasn’t ok. I had been there before and no one said anything. Maybe we were all giggling a little too loudly and having too much fun this time around . . .oops! So we went exploring elsewhere.

I loved the ideas that Whitney brought to the session. This one turned out beautifully.

It was my first time going to this orchard in the Fall. I was blown away by the beautiful color! And this couple added the perfect touch to make it even more beautiful!

Thanks so much Michael and Whitney for such a fun evening! You two are such a perfect couple and I am thrilled and excited to photograph your upcoming wedding!
Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Today is a special day: Veteran’s Day. A day where we get to honor those many men, women, and families who sacrifice so much for this country. My own husband is a Veteran, and during that last stretch of him serving his time when we first got married, I worried constantly that he would be deployed and leave me behind for a year. Thankfully (for extremely selfish reasons) I did not have to go through that, but during that time I got a teeny tiny taste of the emotions that families probably go through while their loved ones go across seas to serve this country.
One of my dear friends, Karly, is one of those amazing people who bravely supported her husband, Mitchell, while he served his second deployment. After a year of many lonely days and nights without him, she very anxiously awaited for when he would come home. And I was privileged enough to come to that day and capture these beautiful moments. My husband even came along, and he said it brought back many memories and he got a little teary-eyed. I had never been a part of this kind of an experience, so it was amazing to me to be amongst all of these amazingly strong family members: mothers, fathers, wives, children, husbands, close friends . . . people that I will always look up to.
As the plane pulled up, there arose quite a shout of joy from everyone!

Then they let all of us run out to greet the soldiers coming off of the plane.

The reunion between these two was such a beautiful and special thing.

Then it was his Mom’s turn. I can’t even imagine sending either of my son’s off to war. Or the feeling of being reunited with them again after a year.

They had the sweetest little nieces and nephews who came along.

You two are together again. Seeing the side of my friend, Karly, for the past year, I saw just a teeny bit how hard it was, so this day was such a special day. I have never seen her smile so perfect. I admire her strength. I rejoice in their happiness.

Thank you to both Mitchell and Karly for your sacrifices and service. And thank you so much to the many other families and soldiers! May God bless you for all you do for this country that we love.
May you feel loved and blessed on this special day that belongs to you and your families.

This was a BEAUTIFUL August wedding that I am so thrilled to share with all of you! Maurie and Keith picked the perfect time of day when the light and everything was seriously perfect! Their attention to details made this so much fun for me to photograph!
Maurie had the cutest little nieces who were SO EXCITED to see them when they came out! I got so many cute pictures of their excitement. Here are a few![]()

The day was so relaxed and just FUN! Even for me who was supposedly “working.” It was a great day and was so evident that Maurie and Keith were ecstatic to be married!

This was favorite “bridal” shot of Maurie by herself. Isn’t she absolutely stunning???!! Oh yes and her sister made that stunningly beautiful bouquet!

Maurie told me originally that this temple was her favorite and really wanted to get some great pictures of them in front of it and capture the architecture. Even though I’ve been to this temple more times than any of the other ones for weddings, the Salt Lake City Temple really is special and very “photogenic” (as said by one of my clients).

Sometimes it’s just the small attention to the details including the bridal jewelry that give a wedding that little extra glam . . . I thought this bracelet was perfect!

These two were so cute together and I loved catching them laughing together and enjoying their day![]()

Thank you Maurie and Keith for choosing me to be a part of your very special day! It was wonderful to get to know the both of you more! I wish you many blessings on this amazing journey!
